The mission of The Rhode Island Doula Collective (RIDC) is to expand the support, information, and companionship people receive throughout their reproductive lives by creating resilient, powerful communities that claim their reproductive process for themselves.

RIDC envisions a world where families are able to make empowered and safe reproductive decisions and have access to supportive care providers.

Looking for a Doula?

RIDC provides free-of-charge doula services to a select number of families.  RIDC doulas use rotating call-schedule, giving families the opportunity to meet and work with each of us.  If you, or someone you know, is looking for doula services, please contact us using the contact link!

Become a Doula

RIDC is available to lead educational workshops! Each workshop can either be offered as a single session or a series. We can also tailor workshops to your organization’s or school’s specific needs. RIDC workshops are focused not only on concrete information regarding health, prevention and clinical practice, but also engage participants in a critical analysis of the societal and cultural forces that shape and guide personal reproductive, birth and infant care choices.

We currently offer the following workshops:

- Pregnancy, labor and delivery

- Breastfeeding and the postpartum period

- The Doula Model of Care: an interactive, interprofessional workshop for medical students and healthcare professionals

All workshops are available in English or Spanish.

We are currently not accepting new members into the collective, but intend to develop and application process as we grow our scope of work.  Please stay tuned for further information and don’t hesitate to contact us with your questions or suggestions!
